What a weekend rolling into Monday!

I'm back and you may wonder what it took for me to jump back in - normalcy is the answer, or what I thought would be a normal weekend and turned into anything but normal, even in the 6 Cools terms.

What I believed to start out as a normal weekend in the McCool house - you know making it possible to be in 6 places to be at once - turned into one for the books.

Friday night lights kick off - the kids had a great time and Caden went to his first middle school dance - my Bigs are growing up and they love their freedom.  Momma is still adjusting and learning to trust them and their friends on the big things, like walking to KFC after school and back.  It's a big deal because we could not do that when I went to middle school!
Cale and some of the 4th football team watching the Tigers!
After a late night of making cheer bows Maggie and I got ready to run the Tutu Trot benefiting her dance studio and their Nutcracker performance.  We had a great time, I had a good run and was just planning my day and all that would be accomplished yet today.
My girl and I post color run!
And then I walked over to get something out of the car and came upon this....

I am not sure why it happened, I know that I was numb, shocked, confused and scared.  I stayed calm and called the police but there was nothing we could do. They got Maggie's dance bag and her bag she had to change clothes at friends after the race.  The word grateful does not even begin to describe what I feel for our dance family.  They all helped out and took care of us and are still looking to see if they see the bags laying on the side of the road.  There is nothing of value for them to sell, just a girl who had her belongs taken and she does not understand why they would take her dance shoes.
She bounced back, got ballet gear from her friends and went off to Nutcracker rehearsal.  This happened in a place where my car could be seen and there were many people around.  People just suck and watching Maggie go through the emotions was hard.  She unfortunately got a tough lesson in that people can suck and will do bad things to get what they think will help them.  I am currently just taking care of things and hate to feel violated  but I know I am not alone.

We dealt with the window and Matthew quickly cleaned out the garage to park my car, a quick shower to get rid of the sweaty color and my stink - did I mention I went back to the car for deodorant because I had just ran a hot and hilly 5K without deodorant?  Then it was off for the 4th Grade Tigers football season kick off!  Watching Cale back out on the field is always a proud, nervous and exciting time.  I am so proud of them - they walked away with a win and a fun game

We also had the chance to watch Mallory try something new - CHEERLEADING!  She is so excited to give this a try and is loving it!
I love that she has the confidence to step out and try something new.  It does not hurt practices and games puts two kids in one location for the same reason but the best is that she is loving it.
And I got to do some crafting and make cheer bows for the girls!

Our Cheerleader!

Way to go 4th grade!

Saturday wrapped up with some adult time and lots of laughs.  LOTS of LAUGHS is just what I needed.

We could not roll out of the weekend without Caden's first fall soccer game of the season.  It was so interesting to watch them 11v11 and on the BIG field!!  Looking forward to watching some soccer and seeing what this team can do.  We did not come away with a win but lots of improvement.

Lastly, only because our weekends really do not just have two days, we finished up with Maggie's first ever Cross Country Meet at Greensburg!  She has been so excited to be able to try a team sport with school and has found a love for running.  This is new for us and I had no idea what to expect but I could not be more proud of our girl for going out there, trying something new and proving to herself she could do it.  She had a great time and these girls are fun to watch.
She finished in 16:23 and 73rd out of 125 lady runners.  I would say not bad for not even knowing what direction to turn to run around the corn fields!  I am so grateful for friends who helped me with this new adventure and took photos when I was running late because I had to sit in traffic for an extra hour!  Arriving after they started I knew she would be disappointed but momma ran to see her after the first turn and her smile was priceless - and I think she ran a bit faster too.  Maggie is already asking when the next meet is and is going to work even harder. Let's hope it is a little less wet.

Part of the girls team!  They had fun and did great!
On the way to the Cross Country meet the truck, which again I am driving due to the broken window on my car, took a nice rock and now I need to see if I can get a two for one window replacement!  I quit and window are not my friend right now. The crack keeps growing I just pray I don't wake up to something worse.

All in all a good weekend, it may seem weird to jump back into my blog with so much going on but as I told Maggie, if we focus on the bad we will never truly enjoy the good in each day.

And then there is this guy: Flash, Flashy, Flashy Dashy, Dog, Crazy Puppy and many more names.  He makes typing a big difficult but he has been a great add to our crazy mix.  He gave me a smile as I finished up my day and is currently tossing his stuffed dog friend around like crazy.

Things could have been way worse, so much more could have been taken.  At the end of the day these four amazing little people got their turn to showcase who they are, one at a time and show Matthew and I how much they are growing.  I could not be more proud of them and I am trying so hard to enjoy each moment as I know all too soon they will be gone.

Here's to a calm rest of the week and no more broken windows.
Here's to many more memories back on the blog.
Here's to a great holiday weekend, with our pageant family!
